African American Concerns Group
The African American Concerns Group is an inclusive community committed to advocacy and social justice for African Americans in the counseling profession.
Mission
The African American concerns group strives to create a brave space for its members. We seek to honor intersecting identities and address the contemporary needs of the AA community. Some of our values include kinship, sharing resources, and cultural pride. It is our hope that we honor our values through cultural celebrations, affinity spaces, professional development and advocacy. We also seek to stay abreast to the changing cultural landscape and we are committed to disseminating relevant knowledge to each of you. Please consider adding your voice and experiences to the community by taking part in our regular events which include Black History Month, Black Mental Health Awareness Month, Juneteenth, and so much more.
