Dr. Rafe McCullough
Rafe McCullough is a counselor educator at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon. Dr. McCullough is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). He has backgrounds in both school counseling, and in clinical mental health counseling. Dr. McCullough has been an active member of the American Counseling Association (ACA), serving on the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) 2016 Standards Revisions Committee in 2013, the Multicultural Competency Revision Committee for The Association for Multicultural Counseling and Development (AMCD) 2014-2016 to develop the Multicultural Social Justice Counseling Competencies (MSJCC), and as a member of the Strategic Planning Committee for The Association of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Issues in Counseling (ALGBTIC) in 2016.
Dr. McCullough is currently serving on the ACA Cultural Encounters Taskforce committee and on the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (ACES), Social Justice and Human Rights Committee. His writing and research interests focus on multicultural and social justice counseling and advocacy and Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) issues, particularly the needs of transgender individuals. He has been involved in advocacy efforts in transgender communities for over 20 years.
